Women's Health and Ayurveda

A woman goes through many physical and hormonal changes between menarche (the first menstruation) and menopause. Ayurveda gives great importance to women's health and to managing these changes with proper food, daily routine and care. In Ayurveda, imbalances of the three doshas (Vata, Pitta and Kapha) arising from improper food and lifestyle are considered to be behind many women's health complaints (stree roga).

At Ideal Ayurvedic Resort, each guest is first assessed by constitution. Our physician then plans Panchakarma therapies, herbal support, diet and lifestyle guidance suited to your body type (dosha) and the factors behind your complaints.

Your treatment plan is decided after consultation with an Ayurvedic physician. Ayurvedic care is supportive and is not a substitute for diagnosis and treatment by a gynecologist. Please see a gynecologist for abnormal bleeding, severe pelvic pain or a breast lump.

Frequently Asked Questions

Gynecological disorders are conditions related to the female reproductive system, such as irregular or painful periods, PCOS, fibroids, endometriosis, infections and hormonal imbalances. A proper diagnosis from a gynecologist is important.
Depending on your consultation, your program may include Panchakarma therapies such as Vamana and Virechana, Uttarabasti, Nasya, herbal medicines, and diet and lifestyle guidance. Your physician decides what is suitable for you.
No. Uttarabasti is performed only when your physician finds it suitable, and in women it is done during the appropriate phase of the menstrual cycle. It is not suitable in every condition, for example during pregnancy.
Ayurvedic care may support comfort, hormonal balance and overall well-being in these conditions, but it is not a substitute for diagnosis and treatment by a gynecologist. Results vary from person to person.
Preparations such as Ashokarishta, Lodhra and Kumaryasava are traditionally used in Ayurveda for women's health. They are prescribed only after consultation, according to your dosha and symptoms.
Please consult a gynecologist promptly for heavy or abnormal vaginal bleeding, severe or persistent pelvic pain, bleeding after menopause, a breast lump, or if you may be pregnant.
Yes. Please bring recent scans, test reports, your diagnosis and a list of current medicines, so that our physician can plan your program safely.
The duration depends on your condition and the physician's recommendation, and may change with your body's response. Our doctor will advise you after the initial consultation.
